Details leaked about Modern Warfare 2 !
• All perks will return from MW except eavesdrop and others will be altered
• All game modes will return from MW and all will have hardcore versions
• New game mode: Secure (Call of duty version of capture the flag, however you capture the enemy's Intel)
• New game mode unconfirmed name, similar to search and destroy, however instead of trying to plant a bomb, you try to kill a specified enemy
• Solider customization for each class (and each country)
• Sniper with silencers will NOT be in multiplayer
• There are NO bots in local multiplayer
• Similar version to Nazi Zombies, however details are unknown
• NO guest players online, 1 player per console
• Kill cam save feature
• There is blood and gore
• Offline/Online Co-op
• Vehicles will be in MW2
• Favourite Modern Warfare 1 maps will return
• Helicopters, air strikes, UAV will return
• Red dot sightings will come in different shapes for multiplayer (circular, square, original)
• Snipers will have special grass camouflage (As seen in Modern warfare's campaign)
• M16 will return.
• Ak47 and M4 will return
• M40 will return, ACOG damage boost will be fixed
• Scorpion, P90, M21, R700, G3, G360 will not return
• New sniper rifle: SR25M (US Military)

Hopefully all these changes will lead to Modern Warfare 2 being one of the greatest games of all time.

A New Era of Communication- Modern Warfare 2 Twitter

Modern Warfare 2 twitter is one of the highest volume search terms on Google at the moment and it is easy to see why. With Robert Bowling the community manager having over 90,000 followers on twitter, infinity ward with over 30,000 followers and the trending topic #MW2 having a minimum of 30 posts an hour there is excitement and a real sense of community on the newest large scale social networking site.

Infinity Ward have been very clever in using Twitter, one of the fastest growing internet sites in the world, using Twitter they can connect instantly to their target audience and achieve feedback on ideas and marketing tools. Robert Bowling the community manager is constantly asking questions of the fans to help in the development of the game, what would you want in a strategy guide? What controller type is better concave or convex? From these questions he gets immediate feedback from a variety of fans from across the globe.

The game developer also uses it to keep gamers up to date with the latest happenings in the run up to the games release on November eleventh. They posted a video of the release of the prestige edition including night vision goggles and almost immediately people were watching the video’s and discussing how much it would be and were you could pre-order the special edition from. The hype generated by twitter on the prestige edition has meant it has sold out in the UK on the HMV website (the only place it was available to pre-order).

It seems in the coming months the widely respected game developers will be using the social networking site to interact with fans, run competitions and get an idea of what gamers want from the game. I think we could see a massive increase of the search term Modern Warfare 2 Twitter in the coming months as the release date for the game approaches.

Kill Streak Rewards: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is set to be one of the best online experiences the world has encountered. The original has simply pioneered first-person shooter games that we will play online in the future; the weapons are phenomenally realistic, the graphics are intense and the game play is smooth and quick. Also, the idea of kill streaks is one of a kind. But playing this game for so long, the standard kill streaks can get rather tedious.

Infinity Ward released a trailer depicting a portion of the online game play of the much anticipated Modern Warfare 2. Of course the main attraction of this trailer is the ability to customize your kill streak load outs - it shows the AC130 gunship, which we imagine the player controls, using the infrared image and the different calibre guns of the gunship just like the mission in CoD4.

Quite interestingly, the AC130 also appears to have a defence feature unlike the standard load outs in CoD4; there is a scene that lasts a number of seconds of a player firing a homing missile (awesome!) at the AC130, then the gunship reacts and releases a flare and it changes to the next scene before you see anything happen. Now, assuming the gunship released flares, the flares should take the gunships place and the missile will assume the flare is the target it is heading for. This will definitely make the battles more interesting!

Another cool little thing that's worth pointing out is the new type of grenade that was introduced in this trailer; Semtex - just like the sticky grenades in Call of Duty: World at War (N° 74). Except this time they won't be looking like giant gobstopper lollypops! These two new features should lead to some new and interesting strategies for the eagerly anticipated game Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, released in November 2009.
